early 20th century woodcuts...

i've fallen hard for this book of woodcuts i came across at the library. how amazing is the line work?! the style is like egon schiele meets aubrey beardsley with a dash of gustav klimt. i scanned the cover to give credit to mr. edward gordon craig (apparently he was a set designer for theater).

que magnifique, no?

  1. I love love love woodcuts. For our wedding invitations it was my ultimate dream to create (or hire an artist to create!) a woodcut for us to use. Alas. Never happened. Recycled ecofriendly invites ended up being
    1. easier
    2. cheaper

    but these are lovely!
