hydrangea love

here's a fun fact: did you know that the color of a hydrangea's petals mirror the pH level of the soil? blue mean the soil is acidic; white or pale colors = neutral soil and akaline soils produce pink/purple petals. pretty crazy if you ask me. i took this picture in a market in nicaragua. coincidently hydrangeas are found in an array of colors everywhere i look here in portland.
