from clemente & a left hand

i came across this page in a two year old sketchbook. i had a painting instructor who broke his right hand (his drawing hand) and thus was forced to use his left. he raved over the results and found creativity flowing in a different ways as new neural pathways where forming. i gave it a try by drawing my right hand with my left. the result is akin to drawing without looking at the paper or lifting your pen. (see "bill when i'm not looking" post). the whole experiment reminded me of life's fragility, hence the francesco clemente quote - one of my all time favorite artists. {click on the image for a close up}
