in santa barbara eucalyptus trees are all over - lining beach cliffs, creating shade on state street, and other historical spots. interestingly they are not the least bit native to california, yet they thrive all over southern cali. their twisted trunks with streaks of colored bark have long been a source of inspiration for artists. i came across a collection of fallen eucalyptus leaves one day and loved how the long curved shapes overlapped creating a random and interesting composition.
